Associate AIA membership is open to individuals who meet one of the following criteria:

• Professional degree in architecture (recent graduate information)

• Currently work under the supervision of an architect

• Currently enrolled in the Intern Development Program (IDP) and working toward licensure

• Faculty member in a university program in architecture

Inactive (four years or less), local, and national allied or affiliate members, and associate members who upgrade membership to architect are not eligible for this offer. *** The AIA offers complimentary membership for 2015−2016 graduates of accredited schools of architecture. Provide a copy of your diploma with your membership application, and you receive free membership with the AIA for up to 18 months. Note that this promotion begins upon date of graduation and not your join date (e.g., a June 2015 graduate and a December 2015 graduate receive complimentary membership through December 31, 2016). Complimentary membership up to 18 months is also available to graduates from non-NAAB degree programs as well as available to IDP holders working under the supervision of an architect in a professional or technical capacity directly related to the practice of architecture. Your membership will be at the associate level until you receive full licensure and have the opportunity to become an architect member. Complimentary membership may be applied one-time to new memberships only. Existing memberships are not eligible. Please note that the AIA is a three-tiered organization. Although your membership is at the national, state, and local levels, this promotional offer applies only to dues for the national component.
