Membership in the AIA is an investment in your future that extends your network to fellow professionals at the national, state, and local levels. Once you determine your eligibility in the appropriate membership category below, you can become an AIA member in one of three ways:

(1) online from the National AIA website {http://www.aia.org/join};
(2) complete the paper application for your membership category (listed below); or
(3) contact us at AIA California Central Coast (for Affiliate Membership).

All newly joining members are eligible to participate in the Dues Installment Program. Enroll no later than April 30, and pay your membership dues in up to six monthly installments. ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP Associate membership is open to individuals who meet one of the following criteria: professional degree in architecture; currently work under the supervision of an architect; currently enrolled in the Intern Development Program (IDP) and working toward licensure; or faculty member in a university program in architecture. ASSOCIATE: NEW GRADUATE MEMBERSHIP (NAAB Degree Holders) Recently graduated with a NAAB-accredited Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate professional degree in architecture within approximately the past 1-18 months. NATIONAL ALLIED INDIVIDUAL MEMBERSHIP Individuals who do not hold a degree in architecture, but share an interest in the built environment as a professional colleague or enthusiast, are eligible for National Allied membership.
