Join us for a discussion on ADUs: The Quick Dos and Don’ts for Heat Pumps in Small Spaces.

In many fire-affected communities, homeowners are choosing to build ADUs first—using them as temporary housing while main homes are being rebuilt. This creates unique design challenges, especially when installing heat pump systems before the primary home’s system is in place.

This session will cover the essentials of designing and placing heat pumps in small ADU spaces, including:

  • How to size and install systems when the main home system hasn’t yet been constructed.

  • Common pitfalls to avoid in compact layouts.

  • Practical strategies to balance comfort, efficiency, and resilience during phased rebuilding.

Whether you’re an architect, designer, and contractor, this discussion will provide the quick, actionable guidance you need to integrate heat pumps into ADUs with confidence—while planning smartly for the future rebuild.
